We host only one wedding per day, giving you exclusive access to all the beautiful gardens for creating magical memories. Your guests will enjoy the ambience of the stone fireplace and the main reception area. At Markovina Estate, whether you are hosting a hundred or several hundred guests, the atmosphere remains seamless and high-energy from your first kiss to the final toast.
Picturesque Ceremony Locations
Included as part of our wedding packages, you have the luxury of choosing from nine picture-perfect onsite locations for your ceremony. Because we only host one wedding per day at Markovina, you and your closest guests will enjoy exclusive access to the entire 10-acre estate, ensuring your celebration feels private and special.
With the freedom to utilise all of the beautiful gardens, you can exchange vows in one secluded area, capture timeless memories with your photographer in another, and then wander the vineyards for those special moments with your bridal party. All the while, the gardens are filled with the soft ambiance of your chosen soundtrack, played through our integrated house PA system and garden speakers to keep the atmosphere seamless for your guests experience.

Two Kauri Trees
Towering over our stunning pond and jetty, two Kauri trees create a natural backdrop for your vows. This location provides a grand sense of scale and permanence, perfectly framing a sweeping aisle that commands the attention of all your guests and sets a magnificent stage for a large-scale celebration.
The trees set the scene for outstanding memories, creating a stunning background for an outdoor garden wedding ceremony location all year round.

Barrel Waterfall
Experience pure serenity in front of the Barrel Waterfall while your guests watch on in comfort, seated amongst the olive trees.
The trees provide great shade for your guests, perfect for weddings on hot, sunny days. In front of the original barrel from our winery, you are able to say your wedding vows to each
other in front of the waterfall, on a picturesque jetty.
The barrel waterfall also has a beautiful stone signing table and plinths nearby which can easily be decorated for your garden ceremony.
Cherry Blossom Round
Experience pure serenity in front of the Barrel Waterfall while your guests watch on in comfort, seated amongst the olive trees.

other in front of the waterfall, on a picturesque small jetty.

The Palms
Located just to the left of our Pebble Beach, a beautiful garden of magnificent palm trees provides the perfect backdrop for a garden wedding.
Nestled in nature and with a pond nearby, The Palms are a serene location all year round to say, “I do”.
Pebble Beach
Situated on the opposite side of our expansive pond, across from the Two Kauris, Pebble Beach offers a sprawling, picturesque setting framed by towering trees and meticulously manicured gardens.
Recite your vows overlooking the water, where the stone features and the iconic Kauri trees provide a grand, panoramic backdrop for your ceremony. This location offers the perfect vantage point for a large guest list to witness your ceremony.
Chestnut Tree
The Chestnut Tree is situated in a beautiful open space surrounded by vines and trees within our gardens. It provides an incredible backdrop for your ceremony.
Standing out from the rest, this ceremony area is a true statement piece and a destination once you walk through our aisle of Jacaranda trees,
Blooms in December and green through late Spring to Autumn. The Chestnut Tree is also an outstanding photographic opportunity in Winter.
Stone Fireplace
Our Otago schist fireplace provides the perfect back drop for a winter wedding or a wet summer's day, while still being surrounded by the beautiful gardens.
Positioned at the end of the foyer, the large glass sliding doors
can be easily opened and closed, making the fireplace
a great ceremony location all year round.
After the ceremony, the area can be seamlessly
transformed into a cozy lounge setting.

Ensuring an Unforgettable Reception
Planning Your Wedding
The journey begins nine months prior with an initial planning meeting to fine-tune timings, create a detailed run sheet, and address any queries.
Two months before the special day, another meeting is held to finalise guest numbers, select the menu, and provide an opportunity to complete a mock table setup for a preview of the reception.
A wedding rehearsal for the ceremony is welcomed as well
Wedding Lighting
The wedding package includes atmospheric dance floor lighting with a fairy light roof, lasers, LEDs, and much more!
A haze and bubble machine are also available upon request.
Music & Sound
As part of the wedding package, an in-house music system is included, featuring a portable PA for the ceremony, surround speakers in the reception room, garden speakers, and a dance floor system. Bands and live music should use their own equipment that they are familiar with.
DJs are welcome to plug in to our system with their mixing desk and take over our speakers.
Décor & Setup
Included in the wedding package are table setups with linen, glassware, and crockery. Personalise with vases, lanterns, and more at no extra cost. Suppliers can access the venue from 11am or earlier by appointment on the wedding day.
