Intimate Weddings at Markovina Estate
Imagine your dreamy country wedding in Kumeū - situated on 10 acres of beautiful gardens & water features, the venue has been specifically designed for weddings. The estate offers an indoor and outdoor flow in a truly tranquil setting with your dining experience seated indoors under a canopy of vines.
We host only one wedding per day, giving you exclusive access to all the beautiful gardens for creating magical memories. Your guests will enjoy the ambience of the stone fireplace and the main reception area. At Markovina Estate, our focus is on creating unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.
Picturesque Ceremony Locations
Included as part of our intimate wedding packages, you have the luxury of choosing from nine picture-perfect onsite locations for your ceremony. Because we only host one wedding per day at Markovina, you and your closest guests will enjoy exclusive access to the entire 10-acre estate, ensuring your celebration feels private and special.
With the freedom to utilise all of the beautiful gardens, you can exchange vows in one secluded area, capture timeless memories with your photographer in another, and then wander the vineyards for those special moments with your bridal party. All the while, the gardens are filled with the soft ambiance of your chosen soundtrack, played through our integrated house PA system and garden speakers to keep the atmosphere seamless from your first kiss to your final toast.

Two Kauri Trees
Towering over our stunning pond and jetty, two Kauri trees create a natural backdrop for your vows. This location perfectly frames the aisle, providing a sense of scale and permanence that feels incredibly special for an intimate gathering.
The trees set the scene for outstanding memories, creating a stunning background for an outdoor wedding ceremony location all year.
A beautiful stone signing table sets the scene for a perfect photo opportunity.
Barrel Waterfall
Experience pure serenity in front of the Barrel Waterfall while your guests watch on in comfort, seated amongst the olive trees.
The trees provide great shade for your guests, perfect for weddings on hot, sunny days. In front of the original barrel from our winery, you are able to say your wedding vows to each
other in front of the waterfall, on a picturesque small jetty.
The barrel waterfall also has a beautiful stone signing table and pillars nearby which can easily be decorated.
Cherry Blossom Round

The Palms
Located just to the left of our Pebble Beach, a beautiful garden of magnificent palm trees provides the perfect backdrop for a garden wedding.
Nestled in nature and with a pond nearby, The Palms are a serene location all year round to say, “I do”.
Pebble Beach
Located on the opposite side of our largest pond, across from the Two Kauris, the Pebble Beach provides a small, intimate location surrounded by large trees and manicured gardens.
Recite your vows overlooking the pond, with a beautiful stone feature and Two Kauri Trees in the background.
The Barrels
Celebrate your love in front of the beautiful barrel display
featuring 11 barrels, superb for a vineyard wedding.
As a great location all year round, The Barrels provide a shaded seating area for your guests in summer or a sunny spot receiving all day sun in cooler months.
The barrels are a perfect bridal party and group photo backdrop.
Pergoda
Standing out from the surrounding gardens, the small white Pergoda provides an intimate ceremony location for smaller weddings.
Beautiful without decorations, or easy to add, the Pergoda is a classic selection for a garden wedding.
Perfect for unity candles, tea ceremonies, or just a private
quiet moment as newlyweds.
Chestnut Tree
The Chestnut Tree is situated in a beautiful open space surrounded by vines and trees within our gardens. It provides an incredible backdrop for your ceremony.
Standing out from the rest, this ceremony area is a true statement piece and a destination once you walk through our aisle of Jacaranda trees,
Blooms in December and green through late Spring to Autumn. The Chestnut Tree is also an outstanding photographic opportunity in Winter.
Stone Fireplace
Our Otago schist fireplace provides the perfect back drop for a winter wedding or a wet summer's day, while still being surrounded by the beautiful gardens.
Positioned at the end of the foyer, the large glass sliding doors
can be easily opened and closed, making the fireplace
a great ceremony location all year round.
After the ceremony, the area can be seamlessly
transformed into a cozy lounge setting.
