Markovina Estate have a huge 10 acre property which we are continued to maintain and create amazing garden spaces and water features. The perfect location for you and your guests to relax, enjoy and celebrate your engagement. We are a 100% family owned business and always strive to ensure that everyone entering our gates has an amazing experience.
When hiring our venue for your engagement party you are also welcome to explore the gardens, enjoy the outdoors and capture wonderful moments of the beginning of your journey together.

Spot your favourite area
Pop a bottle of a bubbly and toast for a beautiful day that you deserve! Impress your guests where you choose from four popular outdoor mingling areas to welcome them:
By the Barrel Waterfall, Pebble Beach, Kauri Tree or Underneath the Old Chestnut Tree plus our new developing space at the cherry blossom.
Spoilt for options, rain or shine, we can also keep you warm if you decide to have the area by the stylish stoned fireplace, a covered courtyard surrounded by sliding glass doors, still giving you the perfect view of the stunning gardens.
Music system will be ready to use whichever area you and your guests will be to help with the ambience of your party.

Main Reception Area
Experience “outdoor” while you are seated inside covered with a canopy of vines overhead and walls of glass to enjoy the outside views. This area fits perfectly from 50 to 225
Covered Courtyard
A modern style area surrounded by sliding glass doors and complimented by an Otago brown schist fireplace that sets the ambience of the space. Best for mingling or cocktail events up to 100 guests.

We offer more than just an events space
When hiring our venue we include a number of items as part of our inclusive package at no additional cost. These include:
PA Sound System – Garden, surround & dancing speakers
Cordless Microphones – Two cordless microphones available
LED Screens – Two installed 65 inch LED screens available for use
Table Settings – Selection of vases you are welcome to use
Staffing – We provide staffing as part of our event costs
Backup Generator – If we lose power, we have a backup ready to go

When it comes to choosing the catering for your next event we have a wide choice of options. These options do differ depending on how many guests you have any how you want to celebrate your anniversary.

So many options to fit your budget
We offer a range of options and cost does depend on how many guests you are wanting at your special occasion. You can have a private picnic from $500 or you could have an intimate differ for you and your close friends from $2,000.

How soon should I book my engagement booking?
It does depend on the number of guests you are wanting at your event. So please check the type of event you are looking at to see when bookings open up.
Can we BYO?
Sorry no, however we do have a full bar onsite.
What are your minimum numbers?
It depends on what type of engagement event you have booked. We can arrange a garden picnic for two or more; intimate lunch or dinner for 10 or more. Our other packages are for larger groups of 50 or more.
