Thank you to all of the couples who joined us for our recent wedding venue open day, which was a great success! For those of you who were unable to attend, we have created this blog post as an overview of the successful and enjoyable day we had and also take the opportunity to showcase some of our very talented local wedding services suppliers.
Markovina wedding venue open day
Last month we held our July wedding venue open day, which was the third open day we have held. Thankfully, it was a dry winter’s day even with a few rays of sunshine appearing in the afternoon. Our vintage lighting, illuminated gardens and fairy lights were on full display.
With the help of Print and Petal and Envy Events, we had a total of eight guest tables, plus the bridal table and our indoor ceremony location, beautifully set up like a real wedding. With a number of different styling and design options on display, there was plenty of decor inspiration. This included a variety of floral arrangements, all perfectly presented under our canopy of vines and vintage lighting.

The talented Print and Petal team displayed four unique guest table designs. With a range of floral arrangements, including a mix of individual wildflowers and beautiful bouquets, the ideas were breath-taking. Additionally styled with matching menus and glistening candles, the black and white style with pops of colour was definitely a crowd favourite on the day.
Print and Petal also extended their vision to our fireplace area, with two beautiful arrangements delicately styled around the mantelpiece. With a few pillar candles in cylinder vases to add that extra sparkle, our fireplace area looked magnificent as the perfect ceremony backdrop for indoor weddings.
Envy Events wedding table décor
Offering floral, styling and design services, Envy Events created bespoke wedding table décor. With alternative options for cutlery and linen, there was a range of detailed décor options to view. Most notably, a stunning dried floral arrangement with fresh roses hanging from the vines.
Also putting their touch on the bridal table with small posies of white and blush roses mixed with sparkling candles, there was plenty of inspiration for all wedding styles. One of the favourite Envy Event tables was the perfect combination of gold cutlery and blush napkins, with a gorgeous centrepiece of fresh roses and baby’s breath.
Outside in the garden, our newest ceremony location – the Cherry Blossom Round, was set up by Mandap Events & Hire with a perfectly fitting Cherry Blossom structure. Our raised round area provides a unique opportunity to have an enclosed circle ceremony or alternatively, facing our beautiful Cherry Blossom Trees.

This was the first time we had our Cherry Blossom Round set up for a ceremony. Last November we planted the Cherry Blossom trees which we are excited to see blossom for the first time this spring. After spring, the trees will remain green throughout summer before turning amber for autumn. Eventually, the trees will lose their leaves in winter but will remain a fantastic ceremony location all year round.
To capture your special day, we had photographers and videographers Soul Sisters Photography, Perspectives Photo + Cinema and Esme and Logan onsite. With stunning displays of their work that showcased the multitude of different photography locations around our estate, there was plenty of inspiration to capture those special moments of your wedding day that become cherished forever.
The harmonious sound of Aaron Bloomfield singing could be heard throughout our fireplace area, while guests were enjoying exploring our venue and speaking with the many vendors. Wedding DJ & MC Mike Steffens also provided his fantastic services, playing music in our reception room and throughout our gardens.
Our team were serving a delicious range of canapés alongside bubbles and beer for guests to enjoy throughout the afternoon. In addition, two local cake vendors Sweet Bites and Just Jess Cake Co generously supplied delicious wedding cake tasters to sample, with a range of flavour combinations to choose from.

Having highly recommended Sweet Bites for a number of years, it was a pleasure to have them at our Open Day. With a range of tiers and sizing options, Sweet Bites had an impressive display.

As another West-Auckland local, we were excited to reach out to Just Jess Cake Co to be a part of our Open Day. Also highly recommended by a number of our previous couples, it was clear to see why Jess’ cakes receive raving reviews.
Providing inspiration for wedding stationery, customized glassware and bridal party gifts, The Foil Smith had a one-stop-shop. Outside, Decorum Cars and The Party Bus Company had their luxury transport options available to view.
Along with the vendors above, our dedicated team of wedding coordinators were taking personalized tours around our manicured gardens and discussing our wedding packages. When choosing your wedding venue, we believe seeing the venue set up, helps you envisage your special day.
